Mob of kids chase down suspicious stranger

Wielding baseball bats and sticks, a mob in northwest Houston today chased down a man suspected of preying on neighborhood children in recent weeks.

"We know him. The whole neighborhood knows him," said Carlos Gonzalez.

Residents told police the 44-year-old man tried to lure children into his van last week while it was parked at a nearby elementary school. They also accused him of hugging a 12-year-old boy on Saturday while he was wearing women's clothing.

Sharp-eyed neighborhood children initiated the pursuit of the suspected child predator.

Call the cops and check his priors. The kids have a right to defend themselves, yes, but what if they get somebody confused with somebody else? What if they grow to like the feeling of mob violence and decide to take it to the minority neighborhood or the gay bar?

I don't like the message--it says, "we know who the bad people are, and we can take the law into our own hands."

One side of me wishes my neighborhood would have had the outrage to chase the "upstanding" fundie pedophile out like the kids in that article did.. The pedophile who hurt me was for all appearances looked "normal".He was white,very,very Christian,and he had a son. He messed my mind up for many years for his sick selfish wants.
At the same time I am born female and I dress very masculine.I dress creatively,I am artistic.Yet growing up because I wasn't dressing like everyone else did,and I was different I was the town scapegoat,assumed a monster everywhere I went,I grew up in a very unhappy home,Kids in mobs would chase me with sticks,corner me in the yard..It is horrible to be the scapegoat.

Why did the kids go after me when I hurt no one?
Why did the adults stand by as their kids sought me out to be bullies?
When I read this,on one hand I was glad someone did something about this pedophile.Adults too often will look away when a pedophile is a sibling,husband,stepfather,uncle,grandfather or pastor...On the other I saw kid bullies and their parents scapegoating a male out-of-towner for dressing in womens clothing,who likes to sniff underwear who's difference scared them. The guy acted suspicious.
He may have been a pedophile,he may have been mentally sick,he might have been doing things that had nothing to do with pedophilia.
Hugging a 12 year old does not make a person a pedophile.
But other factors look suspicious,like the van and parking it where kids are.

But despite the damning evidence, I can't help but see how that has taken a backseat to the glaring irresponsibility of the parents and reporters inciting bigotry of kids they brought up. This transgender bigotry that is veiled only by the sensationalism of the story.
The article writers were sure to mention the pedophile was a pantry sniffing transperson.They were sure to connect a difference in gender to pedophilia,as if transgender people are all pedophiles mentioning it over and over together like 9/11 and Saddam Hussein.

Propagandists and marketers know how effective repetitive association of two unconnected concepts gets fused in the unconscious mind by sheer force of repetition. Look at the "polls" of how many Americans believed Saddam was responsible for 9/11 when Bush was more popular.


The pedophile who hurt me for years was very male,white,fundamentalist Christian and very normal looking.
Yet no one around me was able to conceptually put Christian and pedophile together enough to stop him. The same conceptual barrier happened in the Catholic Church.

Christian pedophile was not repeated together in public except by people hurt by Christian pedophiles.So is was disbelieved because the newspapers had not said it was possible,the psychologists were not saying it,they were focused on satanic ritual abuse...and everything had to fit that paradigm to be considered real. But for me it was real,Normal looking white male Christians could be pedophiles.

Pedophilia is something evil that involves abusing power, dehumanization and delight in the torture and rape of children. Pedophiles can be straight men,looking for little girls,gay men seeking boys,bi/trans men seeking anyone younger than age of consent.Pedophilia can be found in straight women,gay women,bi women transgender too.
Pedophilia is unrelated to many things about a person like an evil heart.Pedophilia is NOT detected by profiling certain types of people that are different than the"normal".The sooner people can quit profiling people over differences and appearances,and other non issues,the sooner the real symptoms and behaviors of pedophilia can be used as criteria for finding pedophiles.
It doesn't matter if you are a catholic priest,a soldier in Iraq,and fundamentalist,or a guy who wears women's outfits..The problem of pedophilia is not dependent on any of these other things.A pedophile is a unique kind of secretive evil that cuts across the whole range of artificial cultural/normal-abnormal barriers society invents just like sociopath personalities do. If you do cruel things in secret and hope to not be held accountable you are person who hurts people and you are a danger to humanity. That is the real problem,not the fact you wear the wrong clothes society deems males should be forced to wear.The appearance of normal,upstandingness saves no one from an evil person's chosen actions .Nor does being different,on the fringes.bullying,sociopath pedophile people come in all walks of life.What if the pedophile was pastor so and so,and the kids mobbed him at church,would their parents be so gung ho to corner him? How would Rightwingnut Texans couch that faux pas in the papers?
Remember the role children had in the Salem witch trials, instigating hysteria and how the parents and adults went along with it until some important political figure was accused?

A pedophile,like a rapist gets off on inequality of power in relationships.All other consenting fetishes and gender identities or sexual orientations a person may have are insignificant. Because a pedophile ,like a rapist and torturer can be or look like ANYBODY.And someone different might not be a pedophile.The real problem has to do with poisonous psychology concerning violation of consent,bodily sanctity of others, of sadism and power over others that is half sanctioned by our culture that embraces bullying.
ANYBODY inside any place or appearance ANY society can be evil.
A person's difference/normalness,their appearance,occupations,gender/ sex orientation,gender identity,being a pillar in the community or scapegoat,how they dress,what religion they are,their race..ALL of these things have NOTHING to do with how evil they may be in their heart or behind closed doors,or when they think nobody will hold them accountable.

Torture"normalized in Abu Gharib or Torture in a nice house in a back room in suburbia that cannot exist.Scapegoating...torture,pedophila and bigotry is wrong and truly evil wherever and whoever does it.
Torture,pedophilia and rape is wrong even when society in general thinks it's somehow justified,like in war...
