1. There are a lot of resturants in the
HEB and Arlington area to choose from. That would be equal driving for Dallas and Ft Worth.

3. Oh and my one request
I work Saturday mornings, so if we could make this any day except Friday night. But if that's not good for everyone else, then that's okay too, I may just have to miss this. But I would love to meet everyone. :)

8. Tis a good idea
We need a get together and this is a great excuse.

There are many restaurants in the Irving/Mid-Cities area. Just need a good handle on how many people and what cuisines are good. For the latter, I would suggest Mexican mostly because it is the most flexible.

9. Can we go somewhere fun and hip?
Like a non-chain bar/eatery with live music?

Last time I was in Ft. W. the Central Market really had it goin' on. I was surprised.

It looks like Saturday evening - June 4th will work the best.
Could we meet around 6-ish??

11. As a suggestion
I went to that bar/resturant Bahama Breeze (114 & MacArthur) in Las Colinas a few weeks ago. It was a fun place. But not a lot of food choices.

14. Texas Roadhouse: 2 locations, one in Grand Praire, and
one in north Fort Worth; Grand Prairie would be most central, I should think.

Willie Nelson is part owner of this chain and the food is good.

15. Good suggestion
Any thoughts? I think we've got two ideas on the table now.

Texas Roadhouse and Central Market.

16. Oh, CM is alllll the way in Fort Worth proper.
Isn't it?

I was just citing it as an example. I'm all for Texas Roadhouse if it's a fun happening kinda place. Non-chain is great!

Central Market would be a haul for people in Addison or Dallas. Texas Roadhouse sounds good for me.

19. don't know how fun/happenin kind of place fits in here, but
if Willie is behind it we can be fairly certain it is BLUE even if it is a chain.

Central Market is pretty far west, even though it is very easy to find, since it is right on the freeway.

I am just not too familiar with what is readily available in the middle of the metroplex, that is not also a dreaded red company.

20. I think this is a good place to go
I've never been there, but I've only heard good things. I get off work Saturdays at 6 (in Irving off 183), so I'll be a little late if we're meeting at 6, but that's okay.

21. So this would be Saturday, June 4th?
At 6 PM at the Grand Prairie Texas Roadhouse?

We should make a call for confirmations about a week in advance.

27. Maybe Willie is part owner, but the guty who started it is from KENTUCKY
and he has sued several local restaurants that use "Texas" and "Roadhouse" in the name for trademark infringement... and in some cases the other places were in business longer.

23. Of course they can!
While I will have commenced my bar exam studies as of June 4th, I shall take some time out to accompany Bullwinkle (the best sister ever) to the Texas Roadhouse. Mr. DTBK will come, too.

25. So y'all have had successful DU meetups? How many people are attending?
We've never had one (Louisiana) I've met a few DUers at protests but nothing that was strictly DU. That'd be cool. I just don't see much interest. :(

26. Yeah, the Austin crew gets together fairly often.
The DFW metroplex crew tends not to have big-deal-everybody-all-get together because we're kind of spread out, but we've done, what, three or four outings just in the last six months?

28. So.... how do we find each other at a meetup?
I may be able to make it, but I've never been to one before. Don't know if Mrs. Doohickie would want to go; I'll be more likely to make it if she's willing to come.
