Traffic question? What is traffic like from Lewisville to Dallas down I35
I just moved here, and may have a job down in Dallas if the drive is not too bad.

How long would it take to get from Lewisville to Dallas by Buckner and 175

The job would start at 8:30 a.m. so could I get there in an hour or less?

Thanks in advance

1. You'll need a full hour, at that time of day
would be my guess. Maybe even a bit more.

Welcome to town!

2. It's hard to judge traffic on I-35, but you might be able to make it
in an hour. Maybe 1:15. :-(

3. ACK! Don't do it!!!
I can't give you recent info, but I know from a few years ago I would try to take my parents from Corinth to the downtown Dallas bus station by 7:30 am. If we got on I-35 before 6:15, it was just regular busy. If we were running late, and it was closer to 6:30, there would be stretches that were already stop and go.

It may be possible to do it in an hour, but it won't be fun. The problem is to cross the lake you have to get on 35. There are no other alternate routes that are comparable. Not that I know of, anyway.

Good luck!

4. I wouldn't do it either.
Buckner/175 (CF Hawn) is on the other side (SE) of Dallas from Lewisville (NW). So not only are you going to fight the traffic into Dallas on 35, you're going to have to go through town and nearly out again; or take 635 (LBJ) around.

Either option would be no fun on a daily basis.

I would allow about 1.5 hr., and that's if you don't get into a traffic jam.

Good luck. And welcome to the metroplex.

6. Oh yes, in at least 1 hour and 1/2 and you find that to be "acceptable".

I used to do that drive in 30 minutes. Have we made things better? I think not. Based upon the routes you've asked for it could be a 3-4 hour trip. Don't you just have to love "mass transportation" in the DFW area metroplex? Go with the flow and good luck, best recommendation, buy a car.

On edit, you have no choice.
