Timothy Hill, Republican candidate in 3rd district, will sign the pledge, even if one of his opponents won’t:

“I am pleased to announce my support for the Republican nominee for Speaker of the House,” Timothy Hill said. “It matters who governs and I support responsible conservative leadership that truly reflects our state.

“By not signing the pledge, it is an affront to everything conservative Republicans like Jason Mumpower and Ron Ramsey have worked so hard to achieve. I am going to stay focused on recruiting better jobs, protecting our state from illegal immigration, and defending our values.”

Rep. Clen Casada (R-College Grove), Rep. Jason Mumpower (R-Bristol)

House Republican Caucus Chairman Glen Casada said “The pledge is intended for Republicans to stand together against the liberal leadership of the Democrats in Nashville and Memphis,” Casada said. “If you are a Republican and you refuse to sign the pledge, you are placing a rubber stamp for higher taxes, pro-abortion policies, and illegal immigration on the citizens of Johnson and Sullivan Counties. I appreciate Timothy Hill signing the pledge and look forward to serving with him in Nashville.”
