Early voting heavy, election officials say
Early voting heavy, election officials say

Associated Press

A contentious U.S. Senate race and the controversial issue of
banning same-sex marriage are among the reasons for the heavy
voter turnout statewide in the first few days of early voting,
election officials say.

Through Tuesday, more than 280,000 people had cast early and
absentee votes statewide, according to the Tennessee Division
of Elections

1. I heard today that the original figure released by the election
commission in my county, Hamilton, (30,000) has been raised and the new projection for early voting will be closer to 40,000. It's been wild and I think it will be even crazier on election day.

Oh, and a belated welcome to DU, Ethelk2044! :hi:

3. In a word, NO, but we're trying to get the dems to the polls to vote!

7. 58% of my precinct has already voted. Unfortunately, leans GOP
but in this case it may not.

I'm hoping for an easy day on Tuesday. We shouldn't have lines except at peak times and they shouldn't last long.

up 48% from the last mid term. It will all comes down to whether corker gets out the most votes in east Tn, or if Ford gets it done in Memphis. Nashville may make this race a barnburner that comes down to the wire tues, but there's alot of rural areas between Nashville and Memphis and a whole lot of rural areas between here and Knoxville and beyond. These areas may do Ford in.
I don't buy the zogby poll that came out today for a minute that has Ford down 10%. We shall see come tues.

5. Hamilton County Numbers, according to chattanoogan.com
... early votes in Hamilton County.

The final total was 37,981 as early voting ended Thursday night.

There were also record numbers voting early across the state. More than 765,000 had voted by the end of Wednesday.

Hey Lefty, all I see are Ford signs everywhere I go. I must be hanging with a better class of neighbors!

6. No doubt re: "a better class of neighbors"!
There are more signs displayed in town and going into town.

Some jackass tore down one of the large signs on Hwy. 58 (much closer to 153 than further out into my neck of the woods.) My sign has made it thus far, but one that I picked up for my neighbor across the street was destroyed a couple of days ago - I placed mine much closer to the house.

If only I could get some classier neighbors!
