It will be held at the Charles Hand Farm, located just off I-24 at the Maxey Road exit (at the Robertson County and Montgomery County line) Here is some info if anyone is interested. Also I can get some free tickets. Let me know ASAP if anyone wants to go or to help out as a volunteer.
The Davidson County Democratic Party is looking for volunteers to assist with all aspects of this year's Tennessee Labor Day Celebration on Saturday, September 10th. Listed below are teams on which volunteers are needed. Davidson County needs to provide a total of 45 volunteers. For those not interested in volunteering but wanting to attend, there are also tickets for sale at the Davidson County headquarters until Friday, September 9th. If you can help, please respond to this email and give your contact information along with the time, day and team on which you are willing to serve. Please call 251-8823 if you have any questions about volunteering or purchasing Labor Day tickets.
This event is a fundraiser and a portion of the ticket proceeds will be divided among the five sponsoring counties (Cheatham, Davidson, Montgomery, Robertson and Williamson) and this is Davidson County’s last chance to raise significant funds in 2005. The event will be held at the Charles Hand Farm off I-24 West at Exit 19 and follow the signs (approximately 30 miles Northwest of Nashville). See map below
At the event there will be a 'straw poll' to allow the expected crowd of 2,500 people to vote on their choice for the Democratic nominee for next year's U.S. Senate race between Congressman Harold Ford, Jr. and State Senator Rosalind Kurita. Invited guests, in addition to Ford and Kurita include DNC Chairman, Howard Dean, General Wesley Clark, Congressman Jim Cooper, Congressman Lincoln Davis, Congressman Bart Gordon, and Congressman Tanner. Each sponsoring county will be allowed to have an information table where candidates and organizations will be allowed to distribute materials.
