Protesters voice opinions (Cades Cove)
2005-04-23
by Jennifer Hodson
of The Daily Times Staff

``God has spoken!'' some protesters cried as the skies opened with a deluge of rain and park rangers announced President Bush's visit to Cades Cove had been canceled. <snip>

Climbing onto a boulder to give her sign better visibility, Jones added, ``We don't think that it's fair that we're tax-paying voters and we don't get a chance to tell him how we feel, even on public land.''

``We don't even get to hear what he has to say,'' Batchelor said. ``I have the opinion I could run this country better, and I'm only 18.''

``Yeah, but you don't have an oil business,'' Jones chimed in. <snip>

1. Thanks for posting this!
I was busy with the convention of the TN Federation of Domocratic Women this past weekend and many of us were wondering how this protest was going.

Big thumbs up to Al Wiberly for his comments!

2. Glad to see protestors came
And that's so true. If the eighteen year old had an oil business she'd have Bush's ear for sure. *sigh* It is sad. Even during Clinton's years he let people protest him. At his library event last year they had protestors outside and didn't have them go away. Ugh I hate these people.
