So I'm coming to South Dakota in a week
to work on the Daschle campaign for the final push (I'm from Oregon by way of DC, btw)

I have never been to South Dakota. Tell me something interesting and useful about your lovely state?

1. South Dakota
So where will you be in South Dakota?

I'll be working with the Democrats too, at least during a pre-election meeting on October 31 in Pierre, and on election day here in Eagle Butte?

I spent one year in Oregon (Pendleton), and found it a bit like most of South Dakota, except warmer.

If I can help with more specific information let me know.

(If you are working election day in western or Northern South Dakota, do be prepared for rough weather. Twice that I recall we had out first blizzard of the year on election day. It could happen again.)

2. thanks, I'll be in the East, from what I can tell
although I really have no idea, my duty station could change at a whim. I've been told I'll likely be on a Res somewhere. I have noticed some serious swings in the weather, strange.

and I'm from Western Oregon, nothing like Pendelton...

3. OK
OK, I'm on a Rez. (Wicasa roughly means the Lakota equivalent of everyman). I've been to Eastern Oregon too. I have spent about a week in Eugene and a little less in the Portland area.

4. Thanks..
I volunteered all summer for Daschle, but had to go off to MN for school don't ya know.

If you're in the Black Hills area and have some free time, I would suggest going up Spearfish Canyon.
