1. I'm guessing maybe the state legislature?
I don't live in SC but I did from about '70 to '80. I do have a continuing interest in the state, though, as my mother is still there in a nursing home with Alzheimer's, and she can be affected by politics/economy there.

Anyway, I think you should post this in GD:Politics and identify yourself as a South Carolinian. Maybe you'll get more traffic with your question that way.
