As many of you are probably aware, several internet organizations are having a telephone campaign today to call our senators and representatives protesting the increase in troops to Iraq.
Because I have volunteered to do this in my area, I had to look up the phone numbers, and I thought I'd just post them on here in case anyone who hasn't heard about this organized action might want to join in.
Senator Lindsey Graham, Midlands Office: 933-0112
Senator Jim DeMint, Midlands Office: 771-6112
Congressman Joe Wilson, Columbia Office: 939-0041
The majority of Americans, the average citizens as well as the professional military and political strategists do not agree that this increase in troops will help to diminish the deplorable situation in Iraq. They, along with a majority of military and political strategists around the world believe that active diplomacy and immediate discussions would better serve to defuse the situation.
Making these phone calls are not realistically likely to have any effect on the processes this Administration, having pushed through legislation giving almost complete control to the Executive branch, has chosen to use, but, at least I will know I had my say before the stuff hits the fan.
Lots of luck, everyone. We're gonna need it.
