Columbia OKs smoking ban
Columbia's smoking ban proposal passed in a 4-2 vote during this morning's City Council meeting.

Councilman E.W. Cromartie, who was previously undecided, voted along with Mayor Bob Coble and council members Anne Sinclair and Tameika Isaac Devine in favor of a smoking ban at all public places, including restaurants and bars.

Councilmen Daniel Rickenmann and Kirkman Finlay voted against the ban, saying that bars should be exempted.

Some tweaks will need to be made before final approval. A vote could come as early as next week.
