EAST, PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - The wife of controversial talk show host John DePetro is accused of trying to unfairly boost her husband's ratings.

Paul Giammarco, the program director for WPRO AM says in a statement, "The media related diaries that affected WPRO AM in the spring Arbitron rating period were returned by the wife of WPRO AM's morning host John DePetro. John states that he did not have knowledge of her actions."

WPRO AM General Manager Barbara Haynes released a statement on Thursday saying, "WPRO AM Program Director Paul Giammarco and I are profoundly disappointed by John's wife's actions."

In determining the station's rank, Arbitron issues radio diaries to selected local radio listeners who record their listening habits.

The company learned that six of the diaries used to collect the data came from a household affiliated with a media outlet, recently unveiled as the home of John DePetro.

Exactly what I would expect from this sniveling, lying little weasel. Rhode Island talk radio is a sewer, and this guy is a big reason why.
