Hi, bluedog,

When I'm in Philly I like the Holiday Inn Express on 13th and Walnut. Right between Old City and the Rittenhouse Square area, super clean, free breakfast, near great bars, and usually less than $100 a night, I think, especially if you book online. 3. And that's not far from the Sansom Street Oyster House,

a good seafood spot, and Monk's Cafe, good for moules et frite and Belgian beer.

4. Never been to the Oyster House. . .

. . .but Monk's is great! I definitely second that recommendation.
