Can you imagine getting on the Septa train and there are copies of this paper being read everywhere!! I first discovered this when I was standing in line at the cafeteria where I work. At the cashier, they have a pile of the Daily News for sale and this picture was just laying there for EVERYONE to see.

All the streetcorner newstands and newpaper dispensers will have this displayed. And BTW, the Daily News was the FIRST in the nation to come out and endorse Kerry

Gotta love Philadelphia - we do it best!!

7. i wish
i wish philly was growing and growing, but city taxes here are killing any chances for this city to keep building. i lived in boston for 5 years and while there i worked on the 13th floor of building right on the charles on the cambridge side. every time i looked out the window i could count at least 15 cranes working on building and making that city better. in philly, i see one.

philadelphia city taxes are killing us here. i am self-employed, so i know first hand how this city kills the small business owners. even some large companies who had once agreed to build and bring business here (i.e. Disney) have pulled out.

philly is a very democratic city, and im hopeful that the whole state will be a victory for kerry, but our own city politicians are a sorry bunch of criminals much like the bush regime, and unfortunately philly didnt have enough common sense to get rid of mayor street, who much like cheney, helps line the pockets of his friends with no bid contracts and tax breaks. philly is still a long, long way from being the city that it can be.

4. Someone told me that...
...when Sam Katz was running for mayor he gave an interview to one of the free weekly papers and told the interviewer "off the record" that if he were elected mayor he would deliver Philadelphia to George Bush. I'm so glad I didn't vote for that prick. I almost did because I can't stand John Street. I'm kind of thankful for the whole "bugging" thing because I, like so many others, immediately suspected Republican dirty tricks and that swung my vote right back to the Democrat Street.

6. He would not have been able to deliver
Philly is such a solidly Democratic city. It may be capable of electing a moderate Republican as mayor (Katz came very close in '99) it isn't going to vote for a conservative Republican for President.
