Any "insider" info on the Pittsburgh Mayoral Primary
I moved west 20+ years ago - but was one of Ivan Itkin's committee people in the District. And with Murph's alleged incompetence - I would sure love to hear the inside gossip that I used to get at Polonsky's and Poli's.

1. Well it sure seems Murphy's incompetent...
I don't know anything about the race...Just a native seeing what a shit hole this city is becoming.

2. Murphy says he won't run.... thank goodness coz he's been awful.
I don't live in the city but it is in the best interest of Allegheny County that the city thrives. I haven't heard any names yet but I'll keep an eye on this thread to see it you get any follow up from insiders.

3. It will be O'Connor vs. Peduto in the primary
and I think it will be close.

Lamb is a non-entity. He has no name recognition, has not accomplished much, and nobody can pronounce Prothonotary much less know what one is or does.

O'Connor has tremendous name recognition, but he was a mjor cause of the problems that plague Pittsburgh when he was a city councilman, and he was in Harrisburg for the last four years "waiting for his turn as mayor". He thinks it is his birthright.

Peduto is a maverick relative newcomer. He has been on City Council for the past 4 years and has genuine ideas for the city and region. He has a brain and is in it for the work, not the glory. He can win if he can expose O'Connor for what he is.

Peduto is going to announce next week. I have worked with hom for nearly a year and I am working on his campaign, so I am slightly biased.
