Late changes in polling places & last-minute mailing
I am not from the Scranton area but will be volunteering there during the days just before the election. I was horrified to learn that many polling places have been changed since the primary and that a last-minute mailing is supposed to go out to notify voters.

I simply cannot believe this. Are they so determined to suppress the Democratic vote that they will send people careening about trying to find the polls?

1. Yes
They are indeed so determined to suppress the vote that they will send people careening about trying to find the polls.

As I mentioned elsewhere, I've requested a county map for our polling place so we can send folks to the right site to vote (every year folks wander in, wondering if anyone has info on poll locations. Normally we can call the county, but I'm not confident in being able to get the information via phone this year.)

2. I'm volunteering in Scranton Sunday through Tuesday
So I was grateful to get this story prior to going up there. I haven't yet talked to volunteer headquarters about what they're doing in this regard, but supposedly the local Democratic Party has all the info. We'll have to be very tough and determined come Monday and Tuesday.

3. GOP Tried to Change 50 Polling Places in Phila at Last Minute
A few weeks before the election, the GOP tried to change the location of about 50 polling places in Philadelphia. By sheer coincidence, they were all in minority areas. The apparent intent was to confuse voters, and to wait until it was too late for the City to notify every voter of the change. Fortunately, the attempt was rejected.

4. I should have known they'd mess with Philadelphia
Since my state doesn't have shenanigans like this, I was taken aback by the last-minute goings on. Thanks for the info.
