here in PA...that were recently passed by a huge majority.
Do the republicans think cruelty to dogs will add jobs or save our economy or are they just being paid by the puppy breeders to do this terrible thing?

Got an email alert from the Berks County Humane Society this morning on this with links to all Democratic legislators in PA urging them to oppose this evil bill...

2. Here's a list of 6 GOP reps who sponsored this resolution.

Also, this is a House Resolution, not a House Bill. So the Resolution calls for hearings to give them cover for next introducing a Bill , which is what they would need to change the law. Nevertheless, it is a strong move toward returning the puppy mills. Forward this info to your friends and co-workers and ask them to call their representatives and Dem Leadership about this. Especially look for people from Lancaster, Berks, Blair, Perry and Crawford counties.

Brad Roae of Crawford Co. and Bryan Cutler of Lancaster Co.), supported by the American Kennel Club (which profits from every dog bred and registered through them), have introduced House Resolution 89. It is a laundry list of unsubstantiated claims about the so-called negative impact of the Puppy Mill bill- lost jobs, lost revenue, lost taxes, lost veterinary income. And the cherry on top is a call to “study” the impact of the bill. In government, “study” means one of two things. Avoid doing something you don’t want to do or kill something you don’t like. That “study” begins with hearings tomorrow.

I will leave the absurdity of the claims made in the Resolution to others who have addressed them in detail here and here. In your calls protesting this, I would emphasize that this is a frivolous waste of legislators' and their staffs' and court reporters' time and taxpayers' moneys to transcribe and print up hundreds of copies of all testimony.

3. Thanks for your post. I can not understand why anyone not financially

compensated by the puppy mill breeders would want to overturn that law. We had terrible storys locally-Berks County-of the conditions in the breeders establishments, and I recall that many of the animals rescued when these mills were raided could not be saved.

I see how much money talks with our new republican led legislature.

4. A car with GOP stickers ...

and elect Corbett stickers, is parked up the street everyday. There are also two bumper stickers that say "Stop Puppy Mills" on it. I'm gonna print this thing out and stick it on the windshield.
