High School Charged with secretly taking photos of students in their homes on laptop webcams

One story that the high school is telling is that they only secretly took photos on the web cams when a laptop was lost or stolen. The ACLU doesn't believe it and has filed a lawsuit. This involves Lower Merion School District's school-issued laptops that students could take home.

Here's school district statement, saying that the remote secret webcam feature has been deactivated effective today. They claim it was only used to track missing or stolen laptops, but the ACLU says otherwise.
