PA Town Hall Foolery continues....
Edited on Thu Aug-13-09 12:17 PM by PADEMJES12
Observing the town halls being held across Pennsylvania, I am shocked at the people that flat out dictate that
GOD, thinks that us Democrats are going to be punished for trying to help the poor and those struck by
hardship get healthcare coverage. Apparently, the insurance companies have brainwashed them into believing that GOD will reward
greedy insurance companies and their supporters by ripping off Americans and refusing coverage to Pennsylvanians for
certain procedures.

This mentality is so warped, that I cannot even begin to discuss where these people are coming from.

All the same, while these same hypocrites benefit from Government run health care programs, they simply would
refuse to give up the government run medicare that they currently have. The deathers have come out with vicious
lies such as "the plan will pull the plug on granny", which was disgracefully repeated by Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley.

This is far more about power and control than it is about the welfare of the people. For example, the lady( Katy Abram)
that said she was "so ticked off and that we've awakened a sleeping giant" at the Specter health care forum the other day
ironically owns a small business with her husband. She appeared on Hardball, but the commentator failed to ask her if they provide
insurance for their employees. What are the chances her small business currently provides insurance for its employees?

They're likely ticked off because they will have to do the moral thing and help provide insurance for their employees.
More so, aside from them not wanting to do right by their employees, these "dough dough brains" do not understand that their
small business could potentially pool together with others to get cheaper coverage rates. Another option, the credible
option would be the public option. We need to find out what the name of Katy Abrams business is and whether she provides
insurance for her employees. I am going to look into this....

I agree with Senator Specter that "Health care is a moral right" and that all options including the public option, and also
single payer should be on the table. Unlike the deathers, I think us Democrats will leave it up to GOD to decide, whether the
right wingers are doing right by siding with greedy insurance companies, instead of showing compassion for men, women, and children
who live in fear each day because they do not have health insurance.

1. What business do Sam and Katy Abram own in PA, I wonder?
Edited on Thu Aug-13-09 04:15 PM by PADEMJES12
This is a very good question for our "sleeping giant" Katy. Too bad Katy wasnt motivated to open her mouth about the start of a false war, which has ran up our debt costing blood and treasure. Here's Katy Abram, our "constitutional scholar"

3. GET TO THESE TOWN HALLS and stand up to these nutballs! Don't let them have this on a silver platter
Edited on Thu Aug-20-09 11:32 AM by demodonkey

I've been to two already. Here are some suggestions.

--- Get as many from our side as you can to come out to these.

--- Try to get in and ask questions, but if you don't stay outside and demonstrate. There is A LOT of media outside, and interviews are done there.

--- Bring clear, easy-to-understand (and hard to misconstrue) signs. Mine read "Single Payer PUBLIC Healthcare for ALL"

--- Be prepared to be loud when called for (especially outside, when the media is doing interviews.) Get with other like-minded folks and plan.

--- Enlist the help of older folks who DO "get it" about this issue, and disabled (especially those in wheelchairs or with other clear disability.) We need some vocal Gray Panthers and/or ADAPT-type folks. The disabled especially are getting screwed by the current system.

--- Have clear talking points in your mind so that you will come off sensible and believable if you get interviewed.

PLEASE GET OUT THERE AND DO NOT GIVE THIS UP TO THE FREEPER-HATER NUTS!

2. It is sad
being a fellow Pennsylvanian myself. Chris Carney, my represenative, recently had a town hall meeting and he had to deal with the right-winger BS. What's scary is that they're succeeding.
