With Kitzhaber running Mannix likely will get in...
Kitzhaber will split votes with Oregons current governor giving Mannix a good shot at the governorship in 2007.

1. iit won't be a three way.
Kithaber will challenge Kulongowski in the primaries. Then the winner will face Mannix.

Where did you hear that it would be a three way race?

3. And it may well not even be Mannix.
If it is just Saxton and Mannix running this time, Saxton may be able to pull it out.

2. I haven't heard that Kitzhaber is definitely running.
:eyes:

Mannix is a Republican. The 2002 Republican primary had a three contender field and the moderate votes were split between Saxton and Roberts, which gave Mannix the primary nod.

If Kitzhaber runs, how the primary race shakes out depends on who else stays in the race. Kitzhaber and Kulongowski are the two most "known" of the field of current potential primary candidates.

Personally, I doubt Kitzhaber will run. Regardless, Mannix doesn't have a good shot of getting the governorship. He's too much of a freak for most Oregonians.

5. I found a site that lists Kitz as running
I think it was a official Oregon govt sight but I can't find it anymore. I think you are underestimating Mannix. He's come close, its possable he can pull it off this time. Kulongowski has only a 43% approval rating.

6. again,
Kitz would be facing Kulongowski in the primaries as Democrats. Mannix & whomever would face off as repugs. Then the winner of each would face off in the general.

I don't think there's anything to know about Oregon laws. It's the same here as in 99 percent of the other states. The democrats face off & the repugs face off & the winner from each face each other.

And this is all in advance of whether Kitz even challenges Kulongowski.

7. You probably found an old Secretary of State voter's pamphlet site.
Since you can't find it again, I think I'll just wait for the official Kitzhaber announcement.

Mannix has to make it through the primary first, as does Kulongowski (or Kitzhaber, if he decides to run again.) I have serious doubts about Mannix's ability to make it through the primary again without two moderates to split the Republican vote.

I'm sure whoever wins the primaries, you and I will both be working very hard to defeat the Republican nominee.
