State Question 744...
involving an increase in funding for public education to bring us up to the regional average (we're currently 49th in the nation). What's your opinion DU? My initial thought upon seeing the tv advertisement was: we were all sold the state lottery a few yrs ago on the basis of the significant increase in funds to public education. Guess it didn't work out as they anticipated... and oh, by the way, Gov. Henry is in opposition to it.

1. I'll look into it before the election...
I'm so disgusted with Oklahoma democrats that I'm debating not voting, with the exception of my local races (Senate and the like).
I'm not certain I'll vote for Republican-lite Askins. She doesn't stand for a single thing I can get behind.

2. I would like to know
who developed this question. If our own Governor is actively opposing this where did it come from. As for the lottery you can easily see at http://www.lottery.ok.gov/beneficiary_vhtml.asp
how that is working out and benefiting education in Oklahoma. It is the State's legislature that failing public education in Oklahoma.

3. A good source of info...
Gives a great idea of who's for it, and who's against it. We've been hearing a lot of hot air from both sides about it, but not a whole lot of substance. Seeing who's who on both sides gives me a clearer picture as to what's going on (see sections 2 & 3):
