Is anyone here boycotting big box stores?
Could we post some independant stores in OK for those of us that are boycotting? I know of a couple (and will be happy to list them if it's okay - moderator?).

I'm particularly looking for an independant store in OKC which sells plain light switch plates. Other than that, I need stores for offbeat stocking stuffers.

1. Yes
I am giving green gifts for the holidays....they have pictures of dead presidents on them. I find that everyone seems to like them.

Hell, most people need gas money and food money in this economy. I just can't into the "buy crap and wrap it up" scene this year. Cash it is, with the exception of a couple of Dance video games for a beloved child who needs to move his ass a bit more.

3. I won't shop in Bethany
I have issues with their city and the way they run things - especially in regards to breaking state law about speed limits (ie - you cannot have a drop in speed limit of more than 10mph from speed zone to speed zone).

One of my favorite places to shop in the OSU-OKC farmers' market. They have great gift items - it's at OSU-OKC - NW4th and Portland. Another place I like is "Once Upon a Silver Moon" on N Classen - 24th or so - across from the "Milk Bottle". She makes the best soap and lotion.
