OH Legislators to Endorse Strickland
Tuesday morning (11/15) about half of the Democrats in the General Assembly -- House and Senate -- will announce their endorsement of Ted Strickland for Governor. This will happen at a news conference in the Statehouse.

1. Strickland and Brown have endorsed each other
They plan to run together at the top of the ticket in November. I expect them to adopt the same messages and strategies.

2. On gun control, too?
Where has Brown been on gun control in the past?

4. More correctly, Strickland encouraged Brown to run according to "the Hill"
I started a thread on this at DU four weeks ago. There was an article I found in "The Hill". It does not explicitly say Brown endorsed Strickland, either. I was just recalling this from memory.

Columbus, Ohio - The Strickland for Governor campaign announced today that Ted Strickland has received the endorsements of five Democratic State Senators and 22 Democratic State Representatives, including both Senate Minority Leader C.J. Prentiss and House Minority Leader Chris Redfern.

"As Minority Leader, what's important to us as Senate Democrats is that we end one party rule," said Senate Minority Leader C.J. Prentiss. "After reviewing the candidates, I'm happy to announce that my candidate of choice is Ted Strickland. I think Ted brings many assets. Clearly, all of the candidates are good, honest, decent guys, but I think Ted touches the pulse of many Ohioans who normally feel left out of the Democratic Party and want a Governor who represents them. And I think he has the vision and the leadership to get this state moving in the right direction again."
"I'm so proud to have received the endorsement of so many House and Senate members of the Ohio Legislature," Strickland said. "I look forward to working with these good Senators and Representatives to restore Ohio's greatness. Ohio Democrats are ready to lead. We want a state where people can get living-wage jobs. We want a state where our young people are able to get a high quality education and attend college if they choose to. And we want a state where our people have access to quality, affordable health care."

"Together, we're going to put Ohio back on track and give the people the kind of state leadership they deserve," Strickland said.

The State Representatives endorsing Strickland today include: House Minority Leader Chris Redfern (D80); Catherine Barrett (D32); John Boccieri (D61); Todd Book (D89); Ken Carano (D59); George Distel (D99); John Domenick (D95); Steve Driehaus (D31); Lorraine Fende (D62); Bill Hartnett (D73); Sandra Stabile Harwood (D65); Jamey Healy (D52); Annie Key (D11); Joe Koziura (D56); Bob Otterman (D45); Jeanine Perry (D49); Allan Sayre (D96); Brian Williams (D41) and Claudette Woodard (D9).

They join Tim Cassell (D63); Jennifer Garrison (D93); and Kenny Yuko (D07), who had endorsed Strickland previously.

The State Senators endorsing Strickland today include Minority Leader C.J. Prentiss (D21); Teresa Fedor (D11); Tom Roberts (D5); Charles Wilson (D30); and Kimberly Zurz (D28).

Strickland has been endorsed by 17 County Democratic Party organizations: Noble, Belmont, Meigs, Geauga, Vinton, Putnam, Scioto, Ross, Clinton, Columbiana, Brown, Gallia, Highland, Hocking, Pike, Jefferson and Warren Counties.

Strickland has also been endorsed by the Ohio Laborers' District Council; Tri-County Building Trades Council; Ohio's United Mine Workers; Cleveland Building and Construction Trades Council; United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers; International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT); United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 1099; and Laborers Local 310 in Cleveland, all of which represent more than 68,000 Ohio workers and retirees.
