4. It's an off-year election.
I wouldn't be surprised if most people don't even know it's happening.

7. Not good
This doesn't bode well for the election reform initatives - especially after all the attack ads about them.

Crap.

8. Are we the only Buckeyes who care?
Care about anything? I was the only person in my polling place this morning; the parking lot was nearly empty.

I just thanked a friend of mine (he refuses to vote) for making my vote more powerful. He shrugged and said it doesn't matter. Sometimes I wonder if he's right.

12. Oh I was going to say, dolo amber
It's still early, perhaps people are still at work...so keep your chin up, that 7% might balloon over the next few hours :)

Remember, it's not over 'til it's over, and the polls are still open.

13. Hmmm, Campbell or Jackson, Campbell or Jackson...
I wonder why people are staying home. x(

Actually, I live right across the street from a polling place, and now that it's 5:30, it's REALLY hoppin'. I think that number'll go up quite a bit.

14. That's at ten o'clock in the morning....
Things will change...

I know for a fact that Westlake and Brook Park are going to have over 40-45 percent turnout...

In Brook Park, we had over 700 absentee voters... Very high a local election....

When we voted at 2:30, we had a 23% turnout in our precinct....

17. I went to vote and lunchtime and
had to stand in line here in Lucas County. There were people all over in the polling place and in the parking lot.

18. Funny how that works.
Local issues always affect citizens much more on a day-to-day basis than national issues do. To be quite honest, though, this was my firt non-presidential election.
