Fundy lawmakers to protect public from nipples.
Chuck Calvert (R-Medina) and a number of other Fundy House members have passed a bill that will prevent strip clubs from operating after 11 p.m. and will require customers from being within 6 ft. of dancers. Of course these businesses can still operate within those restrictions, just like a supermarket can still operate without selling milk or bread.

This bill seeks to protect the public from the horrible consequences of knowing what women look like undressed. Apparently, seeing women dancing naked makes men think of sex, which as we all know is evil. That the human body is wicked is well established, despite the fact that it was made in the image of God. What is more, the presence of these profitable local businesses is an eye-sore to the huge, out of town developers who have graciously volunteered to take over our communities. To make matters worse, the presence of adult entertainment allows otherwise chaste and pious young women to demonstrate that they are sexual beings without the supervision of their fathers or pastors!

Please do a google search for Charles Calvert to thank him for looking out for our best interests despite the fact that as chairman of the House budget committee, he is about the most corrupt man in Columbus. Be sure to let your state senator know how much you appreciate this effort least the matter die in committee like the last two times it was introduced.

1. Thank ALL the Gods I live in Canada...
Edited on Fri Jun-17-05 09:21 AM by Village Idiot
Where, at least in my provice (Ontario), it is perfectly LEGAL for a woman to bare her breasts in PUBLIC (as long as it is NOT for "commerce").

It may seem strange to some, but I never see any women doing going topless, unless I am at the beach or I happen to see a woman breastfeeding a baby...

Every year during the Ottawa Hope Volleyball Tournament benefitting the Childrens' Hospitals of Eastern Ontario, thousands participate from across the copuntry, and hundreds of women go topless - it's to the point where people call it "Breastfest 2005."

In Ottawa (Nation's Capitol) last weekend, we had the World Naked Bike Ride. Hundreds participated, and NO ONE WAS ARRESTED, or even harassed.

I am sure there are many places in Canada where this behaviour is frowned upon, and I have met my share of RW fundamentalist fuckwits in Canada (mostly from Alberta), but there are a lot of us up here who seem to be a little less distressed over harmless stuff like this...

I read about it in Scene magazine (or was it Free Times? I get them confused.)

6. "Save our Strippers" Article is in recent issue of Free Times
I don't have the article here but the bill number is mentioned.

I enjoyed the back-pedaling quote about the bill from Chuckles Calvert....

He's such an asshat.

8. nipple protection
Hey! Whats up here? Surely, if the government can make me wear a seat-belt while driving, to protect me from hurting myself "I did not realize that I no longer owned myself and the government did", the least we can do is let them protect us from those dangerous nipples out there. Six feet may not be enough. You could put an eye out with one of those things.;)
