Any Akron DUers know the Red/Blue status of Papa Joe's in Akron?
Went there Saturday, kinda by mistake. Okay, one of the four of us wanted to try it. We joked that we were out of our league when the "take-out" area didn't have a person hanging out the window with a wireless headset on, and the door didn't automatically open for us as we approached.

(We do tend to eat at halfway decent places, really.)

So, anyway, the waiter comes up to us and takes our order. I happen to note that his pad has "Bush/Cheney 04" and "W04" stickers on the outer sides.

Plus, a patron at the bar was loudly proclaiming about the "myth" of global warming.

I was wondering if anybody knows the stat on if they really were a Bush kisser, or if some joker decided to annoy the waiter. Not that it matters, but he seemed a tad "light in the loafers", and if he's a Bush supporter, it's similar to a Jew praising Hitler.

1. Papa Joe's
I haven't been there in a while (is it the one in the valley?) but one way to find out is to get the name of the owner and check for campaign contributions in '04. I think a lot of the folks in the restaurant business ended up toward the "red" side of the street and most workers were "blue". You may have just found the bad apple so to speak :)

2. Yeah, the valley
The food was good, but a little above our normal price range.

I'm still wondering about the "bad apple"; they might have known this person's affiliations/views and played a prank on him with his notepad, that he would have to pay to replace. But, if he did, and the boss allowed, he could have covered it with Kerry stickers. But then, of course, with the look of much of the clientele, he'd probably lose abunch of tips.
