2. MedeMax is very brave for posting first.
Remember what Barack said: "we are not blue states or red states...we are The United States of America."

I continue to read every book I can get my hands on about Ohio politics, most recently an "autobiographical book, Whatever's Fair, co-written by Cliff Treyens, a former Columbus Dispatch writer," (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vern_Riffe) about former and longest serving Ohio House Speaker Vern Riffe. And I heard someone borrow a line from former Ohio governor Jim Rhodes the other day, pertaining to the economy.

Ohio is an amalgametion of many groups, religions, and ethnicities, not to mention a plethora of industry. We are within 400 miles of 60 percent of U.S. population, we have great natural resources and probably the most prolific public library and the highest number of colleges per capita amywhere. We've got it all; now we have to get it going on.

7. Obama talks a good game about red state, blue state but hey...
he's never lived in Ohio. It's tough out here sometimes. In fact, I didn't even notice odd looks when I wore my Obama shirts prior to the election but the day after the election I was in Wendy's wearing it and boy did I get some looks. My county went to McCain and I could see the faces the morning after. Peace, Kim

4. On Election night, I actually cried
As soon as Ohio was declared for Obama, my childhood friend called from Philadelphia: How does it feel to live in a BLUE STATE?

It just feels good. I don't feel like I need to apologize to all the people I know who live in blue states.

5. I love that Ohio was able to do this, while at the same time
realizing all the complexity.

I never cry, and I cried for days.

6. Lisa, it feels wonderful!
I didn't really understand the effect of a stolen election. After 2004 with Blackwell and all it was overwhelming. We were under a giant, suffocating cloud. I worked the polls Tuesday so I knew that the machines in my precinct were two to one in favor of McCain. When I got home it took us two hours to turn on the TV. I just didn't think that I could face four more years. We got a call from a friend telling us that Ohio went to Obama and trust me it was excitement extraordinaire in this house! We did turn on the tube after that. Still can't believe it. I knew that Obama should take Ohio, we worked hard enough for it. It was just too much to hope for. Peace, Kim
