McCain angers Regula
Ralph Regula has been a very popular republican congressman for many years. Retiring and we hope to vote in Dem John Boccieri in his place. Regula has endorsed the repub Kirk Schuring for the office. Maybe McCain helped our Boccieri by his comments on Regula!

McCain was appearing in New Philadelphia, OH, and he referred to it as North Philadelphia until someone apparently corrected him!

3. McCain gave up Iowa when he opposed corn subsidies
...which I actually agree with, but, there is a state he could have won.

2. Ha!
“Ralph Regula is a fine, decent outstanding and wonderful man,” McCain then said. “I have known him for many years, too. But the system corrupts people. How you can argue that it doesn’t flies in the face of evidence.
“Look, I know that Congressman Ralph Regula, who is a fine and decent and wonderful man, has also gotten a lot of earmark, pork-barrel projects for the state of Ohio and his Congressional district.”

Regula said McCain and Coburn took him to task over the earmark for the First Ladies Library without researching the facts. Though Regula will vote for McCain on Tuesday, he said the senator is “dead wrong” when it comes to earmarks.
“He doesn’t know what he is talking about on that subject,” he said.
McCain said the district will likely suffer because whoever replaces Regula will lack seniority.

Latourette used his committee influence and earmarks to keep local politicians from endorsing or funding his opponents. He kept Kucinich in check.
