Mitakides, Chapman quit race to replace Studebaker
http://www.daytondailynews.com/n/content/oh/story/news/local/ddn082606jane.html

<<Mitakides was the Democratic nominee to face Turner in 2004. She said she's dropping out because she believes the Democrats need to unify behind one candidate.

"I believe that candidate is Dick Chema," she said. "Dick has a lot of passion for the race. I think he's a very energetic, enthusiastic person and I'm happy to support him.">>

As for Chapman:

<<Chapman, a University of Dayton doctoral student and former UD basketball standout, is withdrawing because "right now, I want to concentrate on my studies."

He said he was not pressured to drop out, but had discussed the decision with local Democrats. He, too, said he would support Chema.>>

You really have to respect both for recognizing that time is of the essence.

2. Yep.
I said the same thing last week on another thread and thought I'd catch more flak for it than I did. But I think we have to be realistic. And when you look at it that way, I think we have a fighting chance in 2008. I really do.

Don't give up hope.

4. Studebaker no
She sure screwed that race up. It's to bad because the name Studebaker is well known for producing one of the best looking cars in our history. Check out the 1953 champion or the Golden Hawk.
Yes. they were ten years ahead of the Mustang and they to quit.
