Congresswoman Maxine Waters shines a light on Studebaker at the SCLC
Edited on Thu Aug-03-06 05:36 PM by liberalnurse
SCLC 48th Convention ~ Dayton, OH ~ July 28- August 2, 2006

Stephanie Studebaker is the Democratic Congressional Candidate for the Ohio's 3rd Congressional District. She is also a PDA Endorsed Candidate. She is running against republican Mike Turner.

Congresswoman Maxine Waters called Stephanie the night before the SCLC event as she was irate that they, some republican-like SCLC members, asked her to introduce a republican -- Incumbent Congressman Mike Turner, Stephanie's opponent!!! Now how do you think this went over with PDA Board Member and Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters?

Congresswoman Waters had the Ohio's Democratic 3rd District Candidate, Stephanie Studebaker at the head table sitting right next to her!!!! Giving a notable message of her support of the PDA Endorsed Candidate! Congresswoman did introduced Congressman Turner who only said about two sentences and then skedaddled out of there....something about having to hurry off to a meeting in Middletown......then.....

Congresswoman Waters then proudly and boldly introduced Democratic Candidate Stephanie Studebaker to LOUD APPLAUSE as Mike Turners opponent! What a clever and terrific introduction indeed! Now that's the way to mentor and stand up for a Sister Democrat and a PDA Endorse Candidate -- Congresswoman Waters is a dynamic leader.

This is what Maxine Waters did to help Stephanie out. TERRIFIC!

Turner, R-Centerville, was there, also at the front, introducing the keynote speaker, U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif.

He praised Waters for her bipartisan efforts in Congress, including pushing with him for renewal of the Voter Rights Act.

Waters thanked Turner for his comments — then introduced to the crowd Stephanie Studebaker of Centerville, the Democrat who is running against Turner.

"I'm a Democrat born and bred and when I die, I'll be a Democrat dead," Waters said.

Turner missed the poetry and the applause it generated. The breakfast had begun late and he rushed off to another engagement before Waters spoke.
