OFA: Durham Town Hall w/ David Price 8/13 INFO
Did anyone else get this? I just got it a few minutes ago.

xxxxx --

I wanted to send you an urgent invitation to an important health care town hall with Rep. David Price tomorrow evening, Thursday, August 13th. He'll be talking to constituents and gathering feedback -- this is an ideal opportunity to make sure your support for health insurance reform is seen and heard at exactly the right time.

Our congressional representatives are back home this month, and they're facing more and more pressure from special interests on health insurance reform. It's critical that we get out there and show them where we stand.

I hope you can join us in Durham.

What: Health Care Town Hall with
Rep. David Price

Where: NCCU Miller Morgan Building
528 Nelson St
Durham, NC 27701

When: Thursday, August 13th
Arrival Time: 5:45 p.m.
Start Time: 6:45 p.m.

Our representatives are under attack by Washington insiders, insurance companies, and well-financed special interests who don't go a day without spreading lies and stirring up fear. We need to show that we're sick and tired of it, and that we're ready for real change, this year.

Please come to the town hall, and make sure that the most powerful voices in this debate are those calling for real reform, not angrily clamoring for the status quo.

RSVP here:

Thanks,

Lindsay

P.S. -- Before the event, please print off a flyer to display and make sure that your support is visible.

1. Brilliant! Hold it at an HBCU in downtown Durham. Screamers will think twice. . .
However undeserved the stereotype, republican white folk around here (I live in central NC) avoid this part of Durham, and NC Central, out of deathly fear that they'll be shot or otherwise assaulted by free-roaming gangs of "Negroes". So hold the conference at Central, and see how many of these brave right wingers show up. They're scared to death of groups of black people, especially young male students.

Brilliant stroke by Price's staff. Just brilliant.

2. He He. Either that
or it'll be the first time these old Jesse voters will have showed up on NCCU's campus.

3. Oh-they wouldn't take the risk of "getting lost in Durham." Someone might try to sell them crack.
I just can't believe that they'd show up unless they're in the hundreds. If they do, look out. It's gonna get ugly. Those Central students know damned well what's happening. They won't put up with bullsh-t for a minute. Fox News will have to manufacture another crisis so this town hall doesn't get covered.

6. I learned SEANC was organizing this, not Price's office; Central was probably too scary
And now the screamers are all over it, apparently. I haven't been able to see any local coverage on it. Please let us know how it goes.
