New York City, Long Island, and Westchester County will have an alternative to Air America Radio.
A local liberal talk show host returns to the airwaves.

“The Sam Greenfield Show” will start on Monday, January 7, 2008

Sam Greenfield will be broadcasting again to the New York-New Jersey metropolitan area on WVNJ, 1160-AM. His slot will be 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. Mondays to Fridays, which coincidentally is up against the last two hours of “The Morning Show” at WWRL.

When asked, Greenfield responded that while this new show will have some elements of his prior shows on New York talk radio which include interviews and call-ins from listeners, it will also have many new features such as comedy, sketches, and editorials. “I’m very excited about the possibilities. The show is still in development and I hope to use many good ideas listeners have been sharing with me.”

WVNJ studios are in Teaneck but broadcasts out of Oakland, New Jersey. The range of the signal can be found on its website. The website for WVNJ (http://www.wvnj.com ) allows for streaming online and for owners of WiFi radio and listeners will be able to call in to the show on a toll-free 800 number.
