Pirro is a joke...
Nevermind that her husband is a crook. She is clueless on issues.

On policy issues, Ms. Pirro could not respond with specifics when a reporter asked how much money eliminating the estate tax and continuing the tax cuts would add to the federal budget deficit.

"In terms of the deficit, you know, President Bush has made enormous strides, and I think we realized last month that the deficit is being reduced, and it's something that we look forward to."

Pressed for an answer, Mr. Pirro said: "The specifics of that - it's my first day on the campaign, I will certainly be able to give you the exact numbers of the federal deficit."

On Iraq, Ms. Pirro would not answer a question about troop withdrawal, saying that she would "leave that up to the experts" and that she lacked the information to say whether she would support sending more troops to Iraq if American generals requested them. She also hailed the "new democracies" in Iraq and Lebanon and emerging in Afghanistan; still, Lebanon has had open elections for decades.

She also had an embarrasing pause during her speech today when she went searching for a missing page of text. She had to ask one of her aides for "pg. 10"...

She's going to leave Iraq up to the experts? Hello?

2. Yes he has
he inherited a surplus and greatly increased the deficit. I guess it depends on what you mean by "strides"

12. Aww, but she is a long suffering wife too - NY Post was playing this angle
the other day - after mentioning that hubby is SUDDENLY showering out of marriage daughter with gifts.. So, Karl must've thought "the battle of the wronged wives"

From a Hillary mailing I got:

According to news reports, Pirro's candidacy may be the result of urging from White House officials and national Republican Party operatives who have made Hillary their number one target in 2006. This May, the New York Times reported:

Ken Mehlman, the chairman of the Republican National Committee and President Bush's campaign manager last year, recently called Ms. Pirro and urged her to run for the Senate, her advisers said. Deputies of Karl Rove, the president's chief political strategist, also pointed to Ms. Pirro as a natural choice against Mrs. Clinton during a meeting with New York Republicans last week.

3. All Pirro can say is.
I am not Hillary. I am a Native New Yorker. Well, this native New Yorker, says, "So, what?" If that is all you have to offer, Miss Pirro, go back to Faux News.

4. Didn't Lazio use
the same "I'm not Hillary, I'am a native New Yorker" campaign strategy? I wonder how well THAT strategy worked.

5. Exactly
And where was the outrage with Kerry or Lieberman? They ran for national office and went back to their respective Senate seats when they didn't win. What is wrong with that? Plus, if Hillary DID win, wouldn't that be an HONOR? I didn't hear them complain that either Kerry or Lieberman would have to give up their Senate seats if they won the Presidential/Vice Presidential spots.

9. She also plans to keep saying that Hillary will run for Prez in 2008
as if that a)would happen and b) would matter.

And of course her husband, Albert J. Pirro, was indicted on 66 counts of federal tax fraud. The Feds say Pirro hid $1 million in income between 1988 and 1997, claiming dozens of personal luxuries as business expenses, from his $123,000 Ferrari to his wife's Mercedes-Benz.

Wow - talk about baggage?! For THIS republicans will pay $30 million?? To run this collection of dirty laudry, and lose to Hillary Clinton, they will pay $30 million?

10. It gets WORSE.... Mob ties and money

Jeanine Pirro

Jeanine Pirro declared "I have taken on the mob" when she announced her run for U.S. Senate this week, but she could have said "I have taken from the mob."
The Westchester District Attorney pocketed nearly $12,000 in campaign checks from firms and associates with alleged links to organized crime, the Daily News has found.

A review of campaign and court records shows at least six donors with ties to mob families who've contributed to Pirro since 2003. That casts a shadow on Pirro, who's basing her run against Sen. Hillary Clinton in part on her reputation as a tough prosecutor.

Pirro has been especially sensitive about the mob since The News revealed a gangster was caught on FBI tape last year claiming her husband, Albert, had discussed one of her pending cases with a Gambino associate.

6. Don't forget Mr. Pirro.
...Mr. Pirro fathered a child with another woman in the 1990's, and in 2000 he was convicted of income tax fraud and spent 11 months in prison. Ms. Pirro had signed some of the tax returns in question, but she never faced any charges in his case. This year, a reputed mobster said he had been given confidential information about one of Ms. Pirro's cases from Mr. Pirro, who has denied the allegation...

7. Also, if the press remains
as lazy as its been during the past 8 years, then she'll get a pass. But, if the press does its job, there's a lot of crap sitting at Pirro's door. Heck, Perro can't even claim to be the real New Yorker when she's not even sporting her real face. The face she has now is less than a year old. Heck, up 'till a month ago, she looked Asian, as her eyes still had that stretched look.

8. She has also been a talking head a few times on Larry King, I think..
discussing the crime du jour. She seemed a bit more strident than a working DA should be. There might be some entertaining clips from that.
