Went to a rally on March 31st...
Received an email with a DNC heading to meet for a rally to protect Social Security. Press was to be there. The email stated to be at One Madison Ave., home of Charles Schwab, and let our voices be heard. I also received an email from MoveOn as well.
At least fifty people showed up ready to demonstrate but no leadership from either organization ever showed up. It was to start at 4:30 and by 5:15 we started to lose people. There was some half hearted attempts at marching and chanting but with no leadership present, it was impossible to make this an event. People traveled all the way from Upstate and South Jersey, and I was dumbfounded as to the lack of DNC or Moveon presence. I was also angry and skeptical as to the veracity of these emails that we all had received.
I have since emailed both operations asking for explanations for this
snafu and have yet received no word. My question to all my fellow DUers is did you receive this email? If this was a fraudulent attempt to corral people for a good cause and leave us hanging then I want to pursue it and find out who was responsible for the calling of it. It is indeed a troubling thing if our INTERNET lists are being used in a way to subvert our collectivism, by making us question the right of assembly as a ploy, a waste of time if you will.

I will continue to investigate this and will send out my results.
