Poll: New Yorkers see Hillary Clinton in better light
This was in our local paper this morning. I have to admit, I was one of those that was VERY skeptical about Hillary.

-----------------

NEW YORK -- Almost two-thirds of New York voters see Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton as honest and trustworthy, up from 45 percent who viewed her that way just before she was elected to the Senate in 2000, an independent statewide poll reported Wednesday.

The Quinnipiac University Polling Institute survey, like other recent statewide polls, also found the former first lady beating either former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani or Gov. George Pataki in her expected bid for re-election next year. Neither of the Republicans has shown any interest yet in the Senate race and all three of them are considered potential presidential contenders in 2008.

1. That's excellent news.
As a former New Yorker now living in DC, I've been really impressed by her -- and not just because I was a fan to begin with. The fact is, she works DAMN hard and is incredibly loyal and protective of her constituents. I've also been impressed at the way that she and Schumer have been really good about keeping up with upstate New York. And this comes from someone who distinctly remembers the way that Moynihan and D'Amato used to only travel upstate every six years.

Note: When I refer to "upstate" New York, I'm talking about Albany and everything west -- not Westchester, Yonkers, etc!

2. I also remember those days
It's nice to see that us Upstaters really matter. And I totally agree about Westchester, Yonkers, etc! :)

3. You are definately right.
I grew up in Rockland and now live in GA. I figured the Christo-Facist Zombie Brigade would have found a way to discredit her by now. They hate her so much here in GA that they contributed to Rick the Prick's campaign and will be doing so for her next opponent. Good to see they'll be tying up their money for a losing cause instead of putting it to better use. Of course they don't have to tie up their money here as the whole state uses touch machines. Don't think there has been an honest election here since '92 between the touch machines and cross party voting in primarys.
