Nicols said he believes the national Democratic Party needs a shot in the arm, and Dean, a physician turned politician, is the man to deliver it.

"It’s clear to me that we can’t go on as we have. At the local level, we’ve decided to become much more active," Nicols said. "We’ve formed an action committee. We’ve launched a website. At the national level, we need the same commitment to reach out to people."

Otsego County is about as rural as it gets in Upstate NY. I oughta know, I was raised there. :)

1. I was raised in Otsego County
in the suburbs of Unadilla, in East Guilford. I've since moved closer to Guilford Center in Chenango County, which is more rural that Otsego.

3. Likely
the East Sidney Dam. Not far away, either. I lived on Wheat Hill Road opposite the dam for years, when I worked on the Lennon-Ono Dream Street Farms. And of course went back and forth through Laurens on the way to Cooperstown. I think a friend from Herkimer CCC was from Laurens .... Walter Kent, if I remember correctly.
