1. Logistical Nightmare

Yeah, I know it's moot now, but here's the explanation...

Hillsborough County contains Manchester and Nashua, the state's two largest cities, and places with a huge number of newly registered voters. Polling places in both cities were crushed by the turnout. My precinct (Manchester Ward 3, which is downtown, center city and the millyard) ran out of ballots by late afternoon. In addition, the Manchster City Clerk, Leo Bernier, refused to deputize people to register new voters. He's a cliquish good old boy and was spooked by the newbies pouring out of the woodwork.

My ward wasn't counted until 11:30 PM, and it wasn't the last one in the city to finish.
