FRIDAY, OCTOBER 12 as the last day to change party affiliation before the primary
Know a Republican or undeclared voter who wants to register with the Democratic Party in time to take a Dem ballot in the upcoming presidential primary? Secretary of State Bill Gardner has set FRIDAY, OCTOBER 12 as the last day to change party affiliation before the primary (note: primary date itself is still not set).

Undeclared voters, of course, may take either Democratic or Republican ballots in a primary. Unregistered voters may still register and vote at the polls on primary day by presenting an ID (such as a driver's license) with your birth date and proof of residency
