Young Republicans are apparently holding their national convention in Las
Vegas next month - anybody hear this?

I've just called the local dem party headquarters and nobody seems to know about this.

1) Is this true?

2) Is there anybody else out there willing to man a recruitment table with services sign-up forms for them to sign? I'm sure all these illegal war supporters will be just chafing at the chance to join up and put their personal beliefs to action!

I've alread called the Dem Pary HQ and they gave me 3 numbers to call for the "Young Democrats" - sounds like volunteers like me, not really organized.

I've willing to set aside some personal time to man a table.

Anybody else?

You can always PM me, too.

We should be aware of ANY 'pro-war/support the troops' rallies and send recruiters.

I'm sure all the hookers and casinos will be very disappointed by the huge drop in revenue they will see when all these moral God-fearing Young Republicans are in town.

:sarcasm:

If you go, be sure you have a video camera at the ready. There's bound to be something you could catch that would nip some young facist's promising political career in the bud.

6. Here's info for you LV DU'ers - hope you can report on this
http://www.yrnc2005.com/index.cfm

This year's convention will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino from July 6-10

This ought to get them fired up and enlisting - NOT!
YR FREEDOM FIGHTER PANEL:
The YR FREEDOM FIGHTER PANEL will feature Young Republicans from across the nation who have participated in the fight against terrorism. Many of our members have either fought in Afghanistan or Iraq and bring an intimate perspective regarding the war on terror. This panel will also give YR's the ability to honor our fellow members and U.S. troops. As Young Republicans it is important that we show our support for their efforts on behalf of the United States of America. Participants in this panel will be announced as we get closer to the convention. All of our panels will be interactive, allowing for participants to ask questions of panelists.

Love to get a mole in to that.

7. What would their PEERS in IRAQ think of the YR partying it up in Vegas?
What a disgusting bunch of hypocrites!

While the Young Chickenhawks are boozing it up, gambling Bill Bennett style and making clumsy passes at anything in a skirt, their peers are getting their asses shot off in Iraq.

Typical Republican SCUM.

9. YRNC2005 Convention Chairman Responds to Attacks by Leftists
https://www.yrnc2005.com/news/news_view.cfm?newsID=39

YRNC 2005 Chairman Nathan Taylor has been responding to attacks by leftists who threaten protests at the 2005 Young Republican Convention.

"In recent weeks I have received numerous e-mails from leftist groups bent on infiltrating the Convention and protesting the appearance of veterans of the War on Terror. We will not allow these cowards to dishonor our servicemen,” stated Taylor.

The e-mails label the Convention attendees as “repuglicans” and “Wingnuts” and call upon fellow leftists to focus their protests on “a panel discussion with recently returned Iraq and Afghanistan veterans.” Despite these insults and threats the 2005 Young Republican Convention has adopted as its theme "Supporting our Troops, Honoring the Fallen", and shall host Operation Interdependence, Honor the Fallen and the National Flag Foundation, all of whom assist U.S. servicemen and their families. Additionally, star of the television show The Apprentice, former Marine and military booster Kelly Perdew shall serve as master of ceremonies at the premier Convention event. As well, the threatened panel of Young Republicans who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan shall discuss their experiences and the importance of the War on Terror.

“The childish insults and threatened protests of these leftists reveal ignorance of, and disrespect for, the sacrifice borne by many hosted by the Convention,” Taylor continued. “Most of our members either serve, have served, or plan to serve in the United States Armed Forces, or have participated in events or projects supporting the United States Armed Forces. We will not be intimidated.”

10. Well, as I expected, NOTHING happened.
Nobody called back.

Nobody did anything.

A priceless opportunity to NATIONALIZE the upcomming elections slipped away again.

The local dem party really likes the status quo.

And they wonder why unless things change, I'm sitting out the next dance.

I am so thoroughly disgusted.

They'd rather hold their monthly "dinner" meetings and mutually masterbate themselves instead of doing anything concrete.

They are already ceding the governorship to the next repuke - same with porters' congressional seat and ensign.

Absolutely disgusting.
