Mayor, Council Members Targeted In Recall Applications

OMAHA, Neb. -- Council members Jean Stothert and Pete Festersen and Mayor Jim Suttle are named in applications for recall petitions made Thursday with the Douglas County election commissioner.

These are in addition to a second recall effort of the mayor announced Thursday morning.

Former Omaha State Sen. Lowen Kruse named Suttle and Festersen in his recall application.

In the statement filed with the election commissioner, Kruse wrote, "City leaders have a moral and legal obligation to provide essential city service."

I understand naming Suttle. This is clearly a tea-bagger attempt to put in one of their own as mayor. Jean Stothert has me stumped; she's been pretty anti-Mayor, anti-union, and anti-tax hikes the whole time.

I would vote for the recall (and I live in her district). However, there is NO WAY IN HELL that one will succeed.
