1. Just from the name I new it ws more BS,,,
Anything marked 501 is tax exempt and considered a charity. The real kicker is the 2nd line below:
"By law, charities must only conduct nonpartisan voter activities to keep their tax-exempt status. But the law also allows charities to register and mobilize likely Democratic or Republican voters"

IF that 2nd line was NOT in the LAW, it would be utterly useless to form a 501 organization. Since their entire work is FOR the 2nd line.

2. The 501 was the trivial part.
The important information about who they are, who they have been, how many incarnations have they had, and who's behind them is further down in the article.
