Swanson Homes.

Trust me.

Also, don't do any interior decorating with "Verve" in Eden Prairie. They are crooks.

3. did you report it to the police?
this is a growing problem...some people, especially older folks, get ripped off terribly by 'contractors.' some police departments take this very seriously...if they ripped you off, it's almost certain they're ripping others off....

4. If they ripped you off, call the AG's office
Minnesota has pretty good consumer fraud laws. Additionally, you might be able to get a private attorney to recover your costs and force Swanson to pay your legal fees for you.

5. I'm a Licensed contractor in Minnesota
What was your problem with them and what was the problem with the interior designers? Sounds a little strange you would find two Crooks in one experience.

8. I understand You are not happy
with the contractors you have called out in your post in a public place.
But I would sure want to point out some facts to back up my statement other than they are CROOKS and JUST TRUST ME.
There are two story's here I'm sure, and why should anyone be allowed to just make a statement such as they are Crooks and give no other reason than Just Trust Me.
Do you believe being a homeowner gives you the right to slander a business in a public forum without facts?
What are you doing about it?
There are many ways to fight against contractors that do not do what the contract states. For one they are a business in Minnesota they have a contractors license have you contacted the state?

They are also a member of the Business Association of Minnesota have you contacted them?
Here is there website: http://www.swansonhomes.com/ you will fine more information there.
Here is another good place to check them out or file a complaint.

Let's just say I have inside information about some disreputable folks with whom they do business.

7. Eden Prarie is a known repuke yuppieville. No effin' way I'd set foot in

their posh filth-hole. Ever.

But apropos. "Eden" - a mythical land of ignorance and bliss. Ignorant of reality and blissful... until you lose your job. Thatr's why the area is swarming with insurance peddlers, doctors, drug dealers, and other vermin.

10. Eden Prairie isn't as bad as you make it out to be. Come on.
It doesn't seem so productive to me to be badmouthing a part of the state that's actually QUITE a bit more progressive than you seem to think, instead of helping to turn the parts that aren't voting Democratic at the moment blue.

11. 'Not sure about "filth-hole," but....
One of my kids sees a doctor in E.P. and I can't begin to tell you the number of times I've gotten lost out there. And I have an excellent sense of direction. I always think of Gertrude Stein's comment about Oakland, CA, "There is no there there." Oakland ain't got nothin' on Eden Prarie. There is no city center, no landmarks since all of the office parks, townhouses and McMansions look the same, "gridless" streets so if you miss a turn you may just end up back on the freeway or wandering around someplace that doesn't seem to be connected to anything else.

I don't know if it affects people's political perspective, but it certainly seems like it would become mind-numbing and soul-deadening after a while.

I liked your comments about Ann Coulter on your blog and I agree that not giving her an audience is probably the best response. I understand that she was paid $30,000 to speak at St. Thomas by some right-wing student organization (according to the Strib)and fortunately, NOT by St. Thomas.

Ann Coulter is a freak show. She's the Howard Stern of political pundits. Why do people even bother with her?
