I was push-polled and pan handled by Gingrich last night .
A very nice woman asked if I would like to hear a "special message" from SPEAKER Gingrich. I was then inflicted with a pre-recorded message from Gingrich, which to summarize: "are you going to stand up to the liberals that are smearing the good names of our PRESIDENT and RONALD REAGAN!? Are you willing to stand up against the liberals love of BIG GUBMENT and BIG SPENDING!?! Blah, blah, blah. Anyway, a very nice woman was patched through to me after I had listened to the pre-recorded message and proceeds to ask me the aforementioned questions. I politely answered "absolutely not" to each of her questions. She was a bit surprised. She THEN proceeds to ask me for $150.00, you know, to stand up to "those liberals." I said "absolutely not." She then proceeds to ask me for $50.00. I replied "absolutely not." She was a very kind southern lady, who I could tell that she was a bit embarrassed by the questions that she was asking me (based upon my answers.) She was smart enough to realize that she was asking me to "stand up to myself." Haha. She then asked me If I was surprised to receive this phone call and I replied: "completely surprised." I told her to have a good evening and she said the same. I was very polite to her, despite the fact that I was still laughing at Newt's teeth gnashing. Gawd, they certainly reached the wrong number.

2. You answer "absolutely not" to her questions and they still ask for money?
Talk about staying on script.

7. There was much I would have liked to say,
but I decided to "kill her with kindness" so to speak. I loved the implication that it is the "libruuullls" that love big gubment and huge spending, when the republicans have all the branches of government and the forth estate to boot. Newt's frothing tone inferred that the repubs are VICTIMS of this vast libruullll agenda. It was a real hoot. I love that even though I disagreed with the premise of the push poll, they were still asking for money. AND asking for $150.00. Who has THAT laying around. Oh, yeah, I guess republicans do.

5. Gingrich is running for president. His latest book
does something Newtie NEVER bothered with when actually in office--it comes out for the ten commandments, prayer in schools, and "profamily". And of course, the acknowledgement of the Creator as the source of all our democracy. He wouldn't have spent two seconds on the righties moral issues ten years ago.

The fact he is on his third wife, of course, doesn't disqualify him on the moral values front. After all, he really means his vows this time, and Jesus forgives all.

6. Republicans own the House, Senate, and the White House.
And they need a fresh influx of cash to "stand up" to those damn liberals that threaten to end the gravy train?

Not satisfied with winning power, they seem intent on achieving a one party system.

Oddly, half the voters apparently approve of such form of government to protect us from evil dictators and liberals.

I've had it with the blue collar republicans advocating their own demise, of which "The Speaker" hoped you were.

8. I am against "BIG GUBMENT and BIG SPENDING".
That's why I vote Democratic.

Administrations that grew GUBMENT the least since WWII:
1)Jimmy Carter
2) Bill Clinton

9. Has anyone else received this phone call?
I was wondering if it was a national pan handling blitz or if it was just in Minnesota.
