Gutknecht being talked out of running for Senate

The GOP Powers-that-be in the White House have gotten to Gil Gutknecht and he "saw himself staying in the House".

Watch a few more drop out for other convient reasons to make way for the appointed Mark Kennedy.

"WASHINGTON - Rep. Gil Gutknecht suggested he would not run for Senate next year, telling a newspaper he saw himself staying in the House.

The Rochester Post-Bulletin reported Thursday that Gutknecht, R-Minn., decided he was a "House of Commons kind of guy" during a trip to England last week.

Asked if that meant he saw himself continuing to serve in the House instead of the Senate, Gutknecht told the paper, "Yes. I don't know if I could stay 54 years. But I've told people many times, I love this job, as frustrating as it is ... there's nothing more stimulating to me than this job."

Gutknecht's campaign and congressional office declined to comment Thursday. The congressman is scheduled to make an official announcement in Rochester on Friday."
