I got a fund raising call from AM 950 Air America last night

I guess they decided to call people directly to get funds for running the station. I'm not sure how they got my name, unless they got it from the Wellstone people or the Dayton people or the DFL. I'm donating because I like the station and want to see them succeed.

So, expect to get called!

1. Air America does not make "fund raising" calls.

It's a for-profit business. I don't know about the local station itself, but I'd be wary of a scam here.

3. I agree... you might want to call the station

They are asking for money for "memberships" but I'd be surprised if they're calling people.

If you gave them money over the phone you might want to check into it.

4. I thought about that -- I don't give money over the phone

It was the local station that called. I asked them to send me a bill and I would send them a check. For this I get a newsletter and a bumpersticker. She had my address, tho. I'll call the station directly and confirm before I send out anything.

We should raise funds to put up some Air America bill boards in place of them damn patriot stations. I wonder how much that would cost, I would be come a member if the were putting the cash to advertising. Perhaps we could let them know the DU has there back.
