Make sure and listen to MPR reply of the Dayton speech tonight
I posted a thread on it earlier today - folks, it is worth hearing and the impact of this speech might just reverberate for a LONG time, and perhaps not just in Minnesota!

2. I was on the floor when he made it Saturday
And he is truly becoming THE SENIOR SENATOR from Minnesota!!!

Considering the circumstances of his elevation to senior Senator, the huge shadow cast by Paul Wellstone, and Mark's notorious awkwardness when speaking, he truly is coming into his own as a progressive leader for this state.

I'm very glad to have him on our side, speaking the truth, and taking a bold stand which many other Democrats have yet to make. GO MARK GO!!!!!!

6. They're probably sleeping in....
I know I did! :D

I love conventions, but I usually need a couple of days to recover from them fully. The bigger convention, the longer the recovery time :)

Dayton's Saturday night par-tay was as good as I remember 'em from the late 80s. This one was at the Depot, which is a museum/art gallery/reception hall. Coincidentally, one of my best friends in Duluth is involved in the gallery so she was able to guide us there with ease, and find us parking, too!

The food and drink was good, but the company was better! It was GREAT to meet so many Democrats from all over the state. I have to say I truly love and adore those folk from the northern part of our great state, especially up on the range. Being a city kid myself, it's really great to see such progressive folk in other parts of the state. As one Ranger told me, "a close election up here is when Oberstar gets less than 75% of the vote".

Hands down, we have the BEST state party. Period. Anybody who dares to disagree is itchin' for an argument, IMHO. :D

8. You too? :)
He was on FIRE on Saturday! I've been watching him make speeches at convention since 1988, and he's only gotten better with age! I also like his Iraq plan, too-- it's not only practical but is the only logical approach to the situation left to us.

And the fact that he bugged the crap out of Rummy in the Senate Armed Services Committee hearings AND also voted against Negroponte's confirmation as Iraq ambassador is just icing on the cake! He's got a bright future ahead of him IMHO!!!!

:D

7. Thanks for the info.
Dayton is really coming into his own. Let's hope he sends Coleman running into obscurity.
