4. Boy, not where "I" work . . .
Lots of KQ Morning Show listeners here. Lots of 'em.

I pin up my 'This Modern World' and various and assorted Jeff Danziger cartoons outside my cube just to get the reactions.
It's fun.

7. I hear you there!
At my last job (I'm unemployed now), my 2nd-line manager's mother was lifelong friends with Barbara Bush-- yup, Dubya's momma. Apparently they grew up together, or went to school together, or some such thing.

However, I did hang up a number of TMW strips and they knew I was quite active in the Kucinich campaign, but a couple of my coworkers were very interested in what I was doing-- in fact, they ended up caucusing for DK!

So sometimes you never know.....!

9. The day after the Wellstone Memorial
Several of these guys came in, shaking red with anger over the "outrage" of the Rick Kahn speech. Knowing which side of the fence I am on, they naturally had to unload on me. One went so far as to say he was changing his vote to Coleman, for that reason alone!

I was taken aback, I did not listen to KQ that morning so I wasn't ready for it. I said something about that being a pretty stupid reason for voting for Wellstone's polar opposite . . . then it hit me these guys had no intention voting for Mondale anyway.

Fast forward to 2 weeks ago. One of these guys stopped by my cube, read my Danziger cartoon (the one where the guy asks W if he claims things will get worse under Kerry), and asked me about Al Franken running for Senate, what I thought of it. He didn't claim to be converted or anything, he was asking questions, looking for information.

It's a start. One convert at a time.

10. Man, I was lucky then
I was one of the first in my office to hear about the plane crash, and I spent a couple of hours at my desk, trying to silently sob to myself, before I finally went home.

Thankfully most of my coworkers understood. I told them about how I got to know Paul in 1988, when he helped out in a leg race I was working for (that race rid the state leg of Alan Quist, who would later go on to run for Governor, and even beat out sitting Gov Arne Carlson for the GOP endorsement-- WTF???). Unfortunately, my last conversation with him was not pleasant, as I was angry at him over Kosovo and his support for Clinton. However, I never lost respect for him and know he would have trounced Coleman that election.

Glad to hear that some of those Bushites from 2000 are starting to look at their options. It's amazing what just a few years of Republican (mis)rule can do for our fortunes.

8. Swing state my ass....
I know the MN Greens have not endorsed a presidential candidate yet, but I doubt they will. And, since Ralph has treated the national Greens pretty shabilly this year, I doubt many of them will be voting for him this fall.

However, I still think it's pretty cool that BushCo is blowing all his $$ on ads here. Less to spend elsewhere!!!
