Tonight in St. Cloud close to 150 people stood together to stop the hate
After a hate crime early Tuesday morning, when a gay man was beat up by 3 men yelling slurs at him, today people came together to say the hate must stop. With little notice, facebook and twitter brought people out. More people stopped as they saw the rally, and wanted to be part of it. It was a wonderful, happy, joyful event. Amazing, amazing feeling to be there. I'm, let's just say, above 50. And as I was leaving, 3 young college age type people stopped me and said how happy they were I was there, and how happy they were to be there. It was a wonderful feeling of unity across so many barriers.

It gave me hope.

3. St Cloud is so frustrating sometimes
There's a lot of good people there, but there's a lot of ignorant intolerant types too. I grew up there, and I didn't realize how backwards a lot of people were until I moved to Minneapolis. Then again, this is Michele Bachmann territory.

4. I was there!
If I would've known who you were, I would've stopped by and said hi.

I live right by downtown.
