Strib: It's a no-frills inaugural ball for Dayton
Gov.-elect Mark Dayton has at least one thing in common with his Republican predecessor: Dayton, like outgoing Gov. Tim Pawlenty, is hosting a "people's" inaugural.

Dayton announced Monday he would host a People's Inaugural Ball on Jan. 8 at the Minneapolis Convention Center, with tickets costing $30. Students and people with low incomes, the DFL governor-elect said, will be charged $15.

The dress code, according to Dayton, would be "blue jeans to black tie."

The comments, as usual, are filled with hate.

3. How Pathetic
Edited on Tue Dec-28-10 11:29 AM by CubFan7125
I'm not sure what is more pathetic. The lonely loser who posts hate on the Strib website or the person who reads the comments and actually gives a crap what jollyroger and rascal1234 think? If I need or want an opinion I will go to family, friends or trusted news/opinion sites like HuffPo or RingOfFire.com, not to jollyroger who is probably dateless and living is in mothers house in rural Anoka county.

6. Never Read Them
Edited on Tue Dec-28-10 07:00 PM by CubFan7125
Today was the 1st time in several years I read the comments. Those 2 names I pulled were from two of the more offensive posts. While most of the offensive posts were indeed from the right the left is hardly pure in this. I saw the term repug thrown around, now that hardly raises the level of the debate. There is little to learn in those forums and it is just best to stay away.

5. There is a problem with that view
These are the people that are yelling the loudest, getting more air time, and the politicians are listening to them more and more.
You make a mistake by not reading their words. Not agreeing with them but to find out what they are thinking and believing.
These are the people that are driving this country more and more.
