MN GOP files recount suit before recount even begins.
Go figure.

"Republican Party of Minnesota State Chair Tony Sutton to hold press conference regarding petition filed with Minnesota Supreme Court," the party said this afternoon. Sutton will discuss the petition at 2 p.m. at the Republican Party headquarters in St. Paul.

The Associated Press reported that the GOP petitioned the Minnesota Supreme Court seeking to force election officials to remove ballots in precincts where more votes were cast than the number of voters recorded. The AP cited a person who spoke on condition of anonymity because he didn't want to speak publicly ahead of the news conference.

1. Gee
I wonder if Emmer might be ahead if they "remove ballots in precincts where more votes were cast than the number of voters recorded."

4. That sounds like the plan
To use one or two vote miscounts to throw out hundreds to thousands of good, legal votes by taking out entire precincts. That is the only way to really overcome a nearly 9000 vote difference.

2. Did this actually happen
or is this just another step in casting doubt on the honesty of the election?

If there are overvotes I would think that would be the fault of the scanner and the recount will find those errors.

3. It actually did. They have filed suit.
The Strib article has been updated with the actual doc. No regard for the process or the law whatsoever. Poisoning the well before the recount even starts - the (thankfully massively outnumbered) right wingnuts in the comments section are already regurgitating the newly minted lie that there even WERE "more ballots than voters". Man those idiots don't even bother thinking for themselves, they lap up whatever slop the GOP leaders throw in front of them.

5. The anonymous person is just another use of the
"some say" recipe used by the Pugs.
